A 2024 Summary
A brief summary of 2024.
2024 has been a very busy year with a mixture of events.
Lots of things physically I have been unable to do in the last year but with the help of friends and family managed to continue showing my work…
My first exhibition in 2024 was “A Lifetime of Printmaking” at the wonderful Ropewalk in Barton on Humber 13 Jan to 24 March. An excellent display area with lots of visitors.
At the end of January the episode of Sky Landscape Artist of the Year that was filmed back in 2023 was finally aired - the judges were impressed with what I managed to achieve linocutting in just 4 hours. (see past blog for info on the day)
April I had a smaller show of work at the Cley Visitor Centre in North Norfolk.
June I was exhibiting at the Cornhall in Diss again another successful exhibition.
September was another big exhibition this time with two other artists at the ARB University of Cambridge - always a fabulous place to show work
I ran a few workshops in 2024 see images but less than usual finding planing difficult whilst waiting for op.
I was also still creating at a slower rate - everything was harder and slower with my painful shoulder so I began etching more as it was less stress on it.
A BIG THANKYOU
Thanks to all those who supported me, those who purchased my work or visited the shows.
I wouldn’t have been able to do the exhibitions without the much appreciated help from friends and family, especially husband Martin. I really appreciate the help from hanging the work to delivering and collecting it. A huge Thankyou.
Thanks also to those who, when I wasn’t allowed to drive, came and took for me coffees and cakes.
I struggled a lot in 2023/2024 but now 2025 is looking a whole lot better…
My biggest THANKS goes to the NHS and all the lovely staff at the QE Hospital in Kings Lynn.
After waiting a long time I finally have had my shoulder replacement making it possible for 2025 to be a lot easier.
2025….some of my plans
